If the concentration of moving sperm (motile) in the lubricant is high this indicates that use of the vaginal lubricant is unlikely to be associated with reduced fertility. If the movement of sperm in the lubricant is affected the lubricant may be associated with reduced chance of conception.

When deciding on a lubricant, generally lubricants with less ingredients tend to be better for sperm motility. The study did find Conceive Plus® one of the better lubricants for sperm motility. Manufacturing variations may influence the validity of the results.
